What is the difference between automatic and manual mapping?

In this article, we will outline the differences between automatic and manual mapping.

When importing your product data feed in Wakeupdata, you have two ways of mapping your attributes. Below we will outline the difference between the two methods:

Automapping (recommended)

When choosing automapping, the system will simply map all the available fields in your product feed automatically, keeping the structure and naming conventions that are available in your feed.

NB! Remember to choose a unique identifier, which is the attribute that is unique for each product individually. In most cases, this would be Product Id or EAN/GTIN.

Manual mapping

When choosing manual mapping, you will need to manually map the available fields in your product feed, assigning each attribute a pre-defined value in the Wakeupdata system. By manually mapping your product data you have more control of what fields will be available in the imported feed.
